The Statuary is delighted to present one of the fastest rising stars in the jazz world, vocalist Tyreek McDole. Since winning the 2023 Sarah Vaughn Competition, Tyreek McDole has been on a meteoric rise, fueled by his deeply soulful baritone voice and uplifting message. McDole will be backed by a band of some of the most acclaimed young musicians on the NY scene today.

About the artist: Tyreek McDole, a 25-year-old Haitian-American vocalist from Florida, is making waves in the New York and international music scene. His journey began with a standout debut at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2018 Essentially Ellington Competition, where he won the Outstanding Vocalist Award, presented by Wynton Marsalis.

Since then, he has shared the stage with artists like Rodney Whitaker, Theo Croker, Gary Bartz, Maurice Brown, and Joey Alexander. In November 2023, he won 1st place in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition becoming only the second male to do so in its 12-year history. Noted as one of the most anticipated events in jazz, McDole's accolade now ranks him among the competition's previous winners including the standout artist, Samara Joy (2019 winner).

Tyreek is also earned a degree in jazz performance from The Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Under the guidance of esteemed instructors LaTanya Hall, Gary Bartz, Gerald Cannon, Eddie Henderson, Billy Hart, Dan Wall, Sullivan Fortner, and Weedie Braimah.

Tyreek’s newest release, Open Up Your Senses, debuted on Artwork Records this summer—he hopes you appreciate his offering.
